GNSK: Prototype setup for "Game Characteristics"

A little something to enhance the "Game Inventory" functionality:

Sometime in the near future, I'll show those characteristics on the "Game Inventory" tiddler:

GNSK - Wee mistakes with the "Grove" score sheet

I don't know why I was thinking "red" fruit when it is "orange" fruit.

So I've changed the score sheet so that it says "Orange" instead of "Red".

EDIT: I changed "Orange Fruit", "Green Fruit", and "Yellow Fruit" to "Oranges", "Limes", and "Lemons"

I also fixed a problem with the "Score: How fruitful was the harvest ?" reference:

Was:

60+ Jaffa-bulous

Now:

60+ You're simply the zest!

GNSK Updates

  • New feature: Set a game score-sheet to "view-only"
  • Wingspan score-sheet updates
    • New: Automa "Face-down bird cards" score
    • New: Automa scores for the different difficulty levels

Set a game score-sheet to "view-only"

Once the score for a game has been recorded, we need a way to protect that record (because it is too easy to unintentionally change the score-sheet when no changes are desired).

I've added a Set as "view-only" check box which, when checked, sets the entire score-sheet to "not editable".  If any editing needs to be done to the score-sheet, unset the "view-only" check box.

Wingspan Automa "Face-down bird cards" score

I had forgotten to add a field for the number of face-down bird cards gained by the Automa during a game.

To not over-complicate things, I replaced the Automa's grayed-out area for "Tucked Cards" with an edit field.   For the Automa, "Tucked Cards" = "Face-down bird cards.  (Just enter the number of the Automa's face-down cards.)

Wingspan Automa scores for the different difficulty levels

When playing the Automa, we can choose how much of a challenge we want the Automa to present: easy, medium, or hard (or, as per the game publisher: "eaglet", "eagle", or "eagle-eyed eagle".)

To not over-complicate things, I decided to not bother with an interface to indicate the level of challenge chosen.  Instead, the score-sheet automatically shows the scores for each level of challenge:
  • The number of tucked cards multiplied by 3 for "Eaglet"
  • The number of tucked cards multiplied by 4 for "Eagle"
  • The number of tucked cards multiplied by 5 for "EE Eagle" (i.e. "Eagle-Eyed Eagle").

Example score sheet from recent "Grove" game session

Although calculating the score in one's head doesn't involve a huge challenge, I find that I'm prone to making silly mistakes.  More than anything, I really don't feel like doing the mental math gymnastics immediately after having worked the old sponge playing the game.

I find it pretty nice to see all of the info together as a "record" of the game.
